Can you hear the fire?

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

Bush is going down in flames in the first debate! C-SPAN is showing split-screen of the two candidates - and Dubya is losing this debate minute by minute - he looks haggered, and it’s hysterical how they went and matched up the heights of their heads, but the podiums show the difference - Bush’s podium [...]

5K

Sunday, September 26th, 2004

I DID IT!
Yesterday morning I ran my first 5K. Pictures and a mini movie will be posted sometime tonight or tomorrow.
The experience was great, the day was beautiful, and the course was very nice, and I peformed better than I had hoped for. I must have been keeping pace with faster runners.

The Things I Dream

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2004

OK, so I had this weird dream this morning, George W. Bush was driving a bus … filled with people from every nation around the world, representing all the people of the world, and he was driving them down a highway to their destinations, but all along the way, he kept ignorning all the road [...]

Peace Train Take This Country

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

…. Let’s take our Country back again!
The man named Yusuf Islam, formerly known as the artist Cat Stevens, was denied entrance into the United States on the basis of “National Security”.
What has become of us that we deny a man of peace entry into the land of his birth?
Thanks George W. Bush and John Ashcroft [...]

Fall is coming & the temperature is rising

Tuesday, September 7th, 2004

The FishCam is back! Yippee! I sold the iBook that used to run the FishCam after it was recalled for the display problem, and was basically refurbished with a new logic board.
Labor Day was enjoyable, Charlie and I had a nice cookout with his Parents - and sensible viddles, roasted corn on the cob, marinated [...]

Bush by numbers: Four years of double standards
62 Number of members of Cheney’s 63-person Energy Task Force with ties to corporate energy interests.
0 Number of environmentalists asked to attend Cheney’s Energy Task Force meetings.
6 Number of months before 11 September that Cheney’s Energy Task Force investigated Iraq’s oil reserves.
500 Number of days Bush has spent [...]

Goodbye W. Bush

Thursday, September 2nd, 2004

It’s OVER! Ending a week of angry rhetoric and negativity, living in the days after 9/11, George W. Bush delivered a lackluster performance this evening. In accepting his party’s nomination, he glossed over any specifics, and used his standard macho tone (he calls is “Walking” whatever the fcuk that means) of using the english language [...]

Why it’s important to vote Bush out

Thursday, September 2nd, 2004

From Slate Magazine:
In a democracy, the commander in chief works for you. You hire him when you elect him. You watch him do the job. If he makes good decisions and serves your interests, you rehire him. If he doesn’t, you fire him by voting for his opponent in the next election.
Not every country works [...]
