I’m Thankful

I’m thankful for the millions of Americans that involved themselves this year in our democracy like never before, to stand up against the outrageous excesses of the Bush Administration. Although we apparently didn’t succeed in toppling his regime peacefully via the ballot box. I cling to the hope that reason and logic will eventually prevail over fear and ignorance.

I’m thankful for the 13 and a half years the man I love has chosen to share with me, and the life we have been able to achieve together. Through the challenges that life and each other present at times, we have evolved, and grown in ways unimaginable when we met in 1991.

I’m thankful for the families of which we able to be a part of, our own and those of our supportive and loving friends.

I’m thankful for the hope of peace, even though I fear it is becoming more elusive every day.

I’m thankful for the courage of the men and women who strive daily for rights of the Gay & Lesbian Communities. A free country will never be truly free when even one of it’s citizens is denied his/her civil rights.

I’m thankful for the wisdom instilled in me by my parents through the compassionate lives they lived.

And I’m thankful for you the faceless, often nameless reader, that visits this site, for the inspiration you provide me to continue sharing my thoughts and ideas, in the hope that like a letter from a friend, it may increase good will toward men.
