DVR

The Cable Man arrived today, and installed our new DVR (Digital Video Recorder) … yippee! Now I’ll never miss the shows I like to watch, and I can watch them when I want to.I had used MythTV on Fedora Core linux to create a free tivo like setup, it worked fine until daylight savings time kicked in, then it was always off by an hour and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it, other than changing the timezone in linux to be an hour later.Oh well, the cable company called last week, and offered me a deal to try it out, and with the fact that I was planning to cancel Showtime, since Queer As Folk was over, it’s not costing anything extra, we’re still saving on the monthly bill.Did some painting yesterday, had a good run today, cleaned out the aquarium filters, and the protein skimmer. My hair is getting longer, and I’m looking for some ideas on styles I might be able to pull off with my ultra straight hair … send me your ideas before I get too anxious and chop it all off again ;)
