25 Years of Gay Pride in Columbus Ohio

Charlie and I went to the Pride parade yesterday … click on our photo to see all 205 of the pictures we took combined:

2006 Pride

Couple of things I noticed this year, the venomous wild eyed street preachers were down near the convention center this year instead of the State House, and the parade seems to be taken over by all the welcoming Churches around the city, that used to just be on the sidelines showing their support. Now they are marching in the parade themselves. The other thing is that the parade is becoming more commercial, with advertisements galore, and less signage like years past, that indicated protest or support of certain equality or discrimination issues. Which is probably a good thing, it’s become so positively boring, that even the television news cameras aren’t around as much as years gone by. Progress.
