Happy Days Are Here Again

Thanks everyone for turning out to turn this Government around in it’s tracks, and stop the culture of corruption, by reinstating the Constitutional checks and balances that by their very nature help to prevent the abuses of power we’ve seen these past years from the Bush Administration. My cellphone ringer is now set to play the tune Happy Days are Here Again ;)I had a good time yesterday working as an Election Judge at a precinct in Columbus, it was truly heartening and humbling to help Voters exercise their rights. One Voter scheduled her labor inducement for late enough in the morning to allow her time to come and vote that morning. Her and her husband and two other children were there with her - they were the family that votes together. I had to admire her for deciding her priorities such that the future of her children depended on her vote being cast. All in all, the Voters were very patient, and most were over prepared with forms of identification to make sure they would be able to cast their ballots, now that the Republicans in the Ohio State Legislature passed a law requiring voters to show identification before voting.I personally took immense pleasure in helping the voters yesterday figure out which of the two precincts in our building they were in - no one ever remembers - and help them find out where to go if they weren’t in one of our precincts. As you’re likely aware, the Voters of Ohio turned the state a healthy beautiful shade of blue.Charlie and I went to the Democratic Celebration downtown at the Hyatt after I finished dropping off the voting results at the Board of Elections. So we were present for the victory speech of our newly elected Democratic Governor Ted Strickland.

Cheers
