Turkey Trot - pity pie
32° the dashboard said at 8:something in the morning as we headed out to join with 3000+ other runners and walkers to enjoy the tradition of a 5 mile trot on Thanksgiving day.

Charlie and my brother Bill were there to support me and try to keep warm while waiting for me to cross the finish line and hopefully get my prize of a pumpkin pie and an aerosol can of whipped cream - as long as I finished within the first 1000 males.

Alas, I was there, so near to getting my numbered claim slip for my pie when they ran out - I just missed being within the first 1000 male finishers. Oh well … not like I really needed the thing, but I had been talking up the whole novelty of the reward for days.

So on our way home Charlie stopped by Giant Eagle to get some eggs and sausage for breakfast. I decided to wait in the car. Upon his return, he presented me with my reward - my pumpkin pie and can of fat free whipped cream. Isn’t he sweet?
