A More Perfect Union

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

One of the fundamental goals of our founding document, the Constitution of the United States of America. The Preamble states:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of [...]

Nightmares from Katrina

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

I had to take a break this morning, while listening to my iPod at work … as usual I’m listening to the previous day’s Stephanie Miller podcast - and when I heard this part (audio clip 789kb) which gave the rest of the story why Aaron Broussard the St. Bernard Parish President lost it on [...]

President Gore spoke today

Tuesday, October 19th, 2004

“The Bush/Cheney Administration is a rarity in American history, it is simultaneously dishonest, and incompetent.” - Al Gore Oct. 19, 2004

Like a church sermon, Al tells it like it is, wake up my fellow Americans, regime change begins Nov. 2nd.
You can watch the streaming archive of the speech at C-SPAN.ORG here in RealPlayer format.

Fall is coming & the temperature is rising

Tuesday, September 7th, 2004

The FishCam is back! Yippee! I sold the iBook that used to run the FishCam after it was recalled for the display problem, and was basically refurbished with a new logic board.
Labor Day was enjoyable, Charlie and I had a nice cookout with his Parents - and sensible viddles, roasted corn on the cob, marinated [...]

Ohio Needs a Barack Obama

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

I just finished watching Barack Obama’s keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, and WOW, WOW, WOW! What an amazing speaker, what an inspirational speech, I’m so jealous that Ohio doesn’t have such a well spoken, progressive voice in our governmental representation.

What The American Flag Stands For

Monday, May 12th, 2003

Ever since I started equating Patriotism with Nationalism in my mind, and started thinking about the indoctrination of school children via the pledge of allegiance, and the flag in general, and how the right-wing zealots have turned it into a divisive symbol instead of a symbol of unity, I’ve thought about how I could put [...]

Dean for America

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2003

If you can afford to, I urge you to contribute to the campaign of Dr. Howard Dean for President of the United States in 2004. Take a moment and follow this link and read Howard’s response to the recent remarks by Senator Santorum (R: Penn) regarding the pending Supreme Court Texas Sodomy case.
Thank you!

I Am Crucified…

Tuesday, April 8th, 2003

Thought this was a great screen capture I grabbed from the Dixie Chicks video “Landslide” - kinda timely with Natalie Maines being metephorically crucified by Country Music fans for her comments about her dissatisfaction with the U.S. President.

Does anybody know that song, the chorus goes “I am crucified ….” something something something … I know, [...]

Thank You Helen Thomas

Wednesday, February 19th, 2003

Helen Thomas, White House Press Corp member for over 40 years, made an off-the-cuff remark to a fellow Reporter that she didn’t expect would be repeated. It was repeated and is apparently in her book “Thanks for the Memories, Mr. President” . What did she say? Well it’s something you might expect [...]

Joy on a rainy Saturday

Saturday, March 9th, 2002

Today was a miserable day weather wise … the rain never seemed to stop, it was the kind of rain that isn’t a driving rain, or a normal shower, but the kind that blows with the wind and is only hard enough to be annoying as I would make the journey from car to store [...]
