Although I’ve already cast my ballot, I await with great anticipation the election next week Tuesday, November 4th.

I personally hope we will see the divisive politics that have been the hallmark of the Republican party, architected by evil mastermind Karl Rove, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, John McCain, Sarah Palin, et. al., be resoundly repudiated at the polls this election. The old fear tactics, slimeball politics and outright lies told about Barack Obama I hope will not work this time - we the people, see through the curtain to the wizard and the jig it up.

Apple, my favorite brand next to oh I don’t know, let’s say.. Guinness - has put up $100,000 to fight Proposition 8 in California the citizen led ballot initiative that would amend the constitution of the state of California to take away the rights of same sex couples to marry.

Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8.
